QR Code Generator
Generate QR codes for URLs, text, or any content.
What Can You Encode?
- Websites (URLs): Link directly to your landing page, portfolio, or menu.
- Plain Text: Display a message, Wi-Fi password, or discount code.
- Wi-Fi Access: Allow guests to join your network instantly without typing passwords.
- Digital Business Cards (vCard): Share contact details that save directly to the phone.
- Email: Open a pre-addressed email with a subject line.
- Phone Numbers: Trigger a call to your support line.
Size & Scanning Guidelines
To ensure your QR code is scannable, follow these size rules based on viewing distance:
- Documents/Cards: Minimum 2cm x 2cm (0.8").
- Flyers/Posters: Minimum 3-5cm (1.2-2").
- Billboards/Signage: Minimum 30cm (12") or 1/10th of the viewing distance.
The 10:1 Rule: The QR code size should be roughly 10% of the distance from the scanner. If scanning from 10 meters away, the code needs to be 1 meter wide.
Best Practices for Reliability
- Shorten URLs: Use a URL shortener to reduce data density, making the code cleaner and faster to scan.
- Test Everywhere: Scan your code with Android and iOS devices before printing.
- High Contrast: Use dark colors on a light background. Black on white is safest.
- Quiet Zone: Ensure there is a margin of white space around the code.
- Aspect Ratio: Never stretch or distort the code; keep it perfectly square.
